How can I secure a drop ceiling to keep foster cats contained?

I have a drop ceiling with what seems to be mineral fiber boards in my basement, which is a common office-style setup. I'm planning to use this space for foster cats and kittens, but I'm worried that a determined cat might be able to push the ceiling panels up and escape into the unfinished part of the basement. What are some ideas to prevent this?

One of the best solutions is to use ceiling panel hold down clips. These clips can help keep the panels securely in place, making it much harder for the cats to push them up and escape.

Another thing to consider is to avoid having ladders or other climbable items around. While I get that you might not have ladders in the basement, if there’s a window they can jump onto, that could be a route for them to access the ceiling. Just keep an eye on their surroundings!

Thanks for the tip! I’ll definitely make sure to block any jumping spots they could use to reach the ceiling.
