How Can I Secure My Guest Room Door from the Outside for a Surprise?

I'm working on a surprise decoration for my girlfriend in the guest room, and I need to lock the door from the outside without any obvious changes. She doesn't usually go in there, but I want to ensure it's completely secure for about a week while I set everything up. Any clever ideas?

Honestly, just be upfront! Let her know you're working on a project that you'd like her to avoid seeing for a week. If you hang up a sheet just inside the door, it’ll keep the surprise intact if she accidentally opens it.

But wouldn't she wonder why you're not using tools? You could just swap the knob for one with a lock—it’s a quick fix and would give her a working lock for future guests!

You could put a door jam on the inside and then sneak out the window when you need to. It’s a little unconventional but it works!

This will definitely do the trick!
