I've got a hose spigot that was initially installed pretty poorly, and it's now loose on my exterior wall. I've tried reattaching it by screwing into the siding at different angles, but after repeated pulling on it, there's just no solid wood left to grab onto. I've even tried drilling new holes in the mounting bracket, but that hasn't worked either since the siding crumbles nearby. I'm trying to find a solution that doesn't require a plumber. Would a larger mounting bracket be effective, or is there another way to tackle this? Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

You could use two horizontal flat iron brackets that span across the wall studs, one above and one below the spigot. Fasten them with 2.5-inch self-tapping screws to the studs. Then, add two vertical flat irons under each screw hole of the spigot and secure them using 1-inch self-tapping screws. This should give you something sturdy to hold onto!
Have you considered getting a repair kit? There are some options available, like the Woodford oversized wall flange kit that can help secure it better. If you can access the back side, look into hose bib anchors that clamp onto the pipe for extra support. Check out the kits at Home Depot or Lowe's for specifics!
Thanks for the links! I'll definitely check them out.
Could you share a photo of the spigot and the area? It might help others give better suggestions based on what they see!
