I've got a standard lazy Susan that's probably from the '80s, not particularly special but it swings open both ways and is made of wood. My kids love to play with the stuff inside her, which is fine by me, but my wife is not thrilled about it. I need some creative ways to temporarily lock it up until we actually need to use it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

One simple solution could be to drill a hole through the bottom of the lazy Susan and into the cabinet base, then drop a dowel rod in there to keep it secured in place. That way, it won't spin around when your kids are around.
If you can, try moving the lazy Susan to a vertical cabinet space where it can just sit up without being easily accessible. Out of sight, out of mind, right? It might work as a good temporary fix!
You could also consider putting a screw through the lazy Susan or maybe adding a door chain lock to it. If you want it to be completely immobile, a rubber piece could help create some friction to hold it still when you need it. Just make sure it’s secure!

Haha, no one's touching my snacks, either! But really, nice tip about the rubber! That's a clever way to keep it quiet without being too complicated.
