I'm trying to find a way to prevent my HVAC system from turning my yard into a muddy mess with all the water it drains. I've been considering using a soaker hose attached to the drain line or maybe setting up a gutter downspout catch basin to catch the water. Has anyone successfully spread out their drain water? Any other ideas or tips?

Are you dealing with a condensate pump draining into your yard? That could change your approach. If it's just a basic PVC line from the HVAC unit, there are definitely options to explore!
Just a heads up that whatever solution you decide on, make sure you can still access the drain line. You might need to clear out blockages from time to time!

Yeah, it's definitely a white PVC line coming out of the HVAC unit. Not sure about the pump situation.
