How Can I Soundproof My Bedrooms for More Privacy?

I live in a 10-year-old home that has solid wood floors and hollow interior doors. The bedrooms and laundry room open off a small hallway (about 5 ft x 7 ft), and each bedroom door has an average gap of around 1.5 inches at the bottom. I'm looking for suggestions on how to better soundproof the rooms and enhance privacy between the bedrooms. Any ideas?

First off, if you have central HVAC, make sure you have air returns in the rooms because those gaps are there for a reason - to manage airflow. If you want to block more sound, consider switching to solid doors, minimizing gaps, and adding weather stripping around the edges. However, you will need to install some type of air return to keep the air circulating effectively. Check online for tutorials; it can be a bit tricky but totally worth it! To start, throw rugs can help dampen noise as well!

Definitely! You could also try adding some soundproofing material to the walls. My brother's wife hung quilts up as decor and it actually made a noticeable difference!
