I live in a townhome where my neighbor's air conditioning unit is right outside my house, and its placement is really frustrating. They run it whenever the temperature goes above 50°F, and it can run all night if it gets to 70°F or higher. The noise makes it nearly impossible to sleep, especially since the layout of my home means I can't easily switch rooms—only the bathrooms are different. All my other rooms face the street, so I'm stuck listening to this AC constantly. The walls here are paper thin, and I'm looking for some advice on how to soundproof without driving my homeowners' association crazy.
