Hey everyone! My husband and I live in a mid-century house with beautiful hardwood floors, but they're super noisy and creaky. I've been considering screwing them down, but I'm not too fond of the idea of having visible screws in the floors. I came across a tip suggesting that using baby powder sprinkled in the cracks could help to reduce the creaking. Has anyone tried this method, or do you have any other solutions that work without resorting to screws?

I’ve heard that using fine sawdust can work just like baby powder. You sprinkle it in the creaks and sweep it in with a broom. It helps to fill the gaps! Definitely worth a shot before you mess with screws!

Wow, that sounds awesome! I'm all for trying the cheaper option first. I just hope it does the trick—my toddler is super sensitive to the noise!
