I have a side storm door that faces a lot of wind, and it often swings open too quickly, damaging the frame and bending the pneumatic closer. I've ruled out swinging it open inward due to the main door behind it and can't place a stopper outside because it's right next to stairs, which would create a tripping hazard. I considered using a chain to limit how far it opens but I'm worried it might break the top of the frame because of the force when it swings. Ideally, I'm looking for a pneumatic device or something that can help slow the door as it approaches 90 degrees. Anyone know of any solutions?

Wind chains could be a great option for you! They’re designed to handle a lot of wind pressure and might prevent your storm door from swinging too far. They're reliable and generally do a good job without breaking.
Are the winds usually coming from one direction? If so, it might be worth looking into flipping how your storm door is mounted. I know it sounds like a hassle but sometimes that could really change how the door reacts to the wind!
Have you tried just locking the storm door when it’s really windy? That’s what we’ve been doing, and it keeps the door from slamming open too hard. It’s probably the easiest solution to avoid further damage.
I can't really flip the door since it’s part of a double door setup. It seems complicated to change how they close, but I appreciate the suggestion!
