Hey everyone! I'm not a construction whiz, so bear with me. I've noticed that during heavy rains, water seeps into my garage through an exterior wall. I suspect it's coming from underneath the wall, especially since it looks like some kind of sealer was applied at the bottom before. I'm wondering what steps I should take to fix this issue. Is applying more external sealer the right move?

It sounds like you might have some drainage issues. First, check if your downspouts are working properly—make sure they’re directing water away from the garage. Also, examine the grading around your garage; it should slope away from the foundation. If it’s flat or sloping toward the garage, that might be where the problem lies. You can dig out the area around the wall, seal it well, and even consider installing drain tiles to direct water away from the wall to prevent future seepage.
From what you’ve described, sealing the wall more might not be enough. You really need to look at how the soil grades around your garage. If it’s flat or slopes towards the garage, then that’s likely allowing water to pool at the base. Correcting the grading could make a huge difference in preventing water from seeping in.
