I've been using a Tanner Goods bifold wallet for years and despite all the wear it's gone through - including trips around the world and a couple of wash cycles - the cash pocket has stayed too tight for my liking. I want to be able to handle my cash easily, like at the checkout or drive-thrus, but every time I try to stash my bills, they get crumpled or I have to fumble around to make it fit. I even tried putting folded paper in there to stretch it out, but that hasn't worked. Does anyone have tips to loosen up that pocket and make it more functional?

Bone folders are seriously handy! I once asked for one at a craft store for bookmaking, and let’s just say they thought I was into scrapbooking. So awkward! But the flat end can fit on either side of the seam in your wallet and can help create a nice crease or stretch the pocket out.
One trick I’ve tried is stuffing the pocket with plastic cards. It really helped stretch mine more than I anticipated!
You can use a leather stretcher from a shoe shop! Just spray it in the pocket and then fill it with something like old change to bulk it out. Give it a day or two, and you’ll notice the leather becomes much more flexible and ready to hold your cash without crumpling.
