How Can I Successfully Drill a Screw Through Two 2x4s?

I've been struggling for the last couple of hours to drill a screw through two 2x4s! I've tried using a long wood hole maker and a circular hole drill, but nothing seems to work. When I attempted to drill a pilot hole with a 1/8 bit, it actually broke inside the wood! I'm really trying to build a house for my bunnies and could use some help. What am I doing wrong?

First off, double-check if your drill is set to reverse – that might be the issue! Also, make sure your screw has a tip; some screws are missing tips, which makes them really hard to drive in. Good luck!

Honestly, you might want to consider just buying a bunny house instead of risking your fingers with the drill! Sometimes it’s better to play it safe.

It looks like your drill might have a torque setting that's too low, which can create issues when drilling pilot holes. Also, make sure your drill is steady while you're at it; breaking bits can be a real pain!

I’ll check that out! Thanks!

Yeah, keeping it steady is key. I broke a few bits myself before I figured that out!
