How Can I Tell if I’m Getting the Updated Motor Mount for the M18 Mower?

I'm considering purchasing an M18 mower since they're going on sale due to the colder weather. However, I'm worried about ending up with one that has the old motor mount. I talked to a supplier, and they indicated their stock is from 2022, which likely means it has the original motor mount. Since I'm in the UK where these mowers are pricey, I want to make a smart choice. Does anyone know when the updated motor mount started being manufactured? Is my best bet to buy a new forge bundle, even though I don't need the extra batteries that come with it?

If you can grab the forge version, that’s definitely a smart move! Look for a sticker or label with a manufacturing date of 2025 or later on the box—that's a good indication you’ve got the newer mount.

Just a heads up on identifying the motor mounts: if the model number has a "b" in it, that indicates it’s the updated version. You can check the Milwaukee site for the current parts diagram, which would help confirm if you’re looking at the new model. I’ve previously shared some comparisons of the old and new mounts, so you might find those helpful. Also, the mower usually comes with forge batteries if it’s the new revision.
