Hey everyone! I'm just a casual woodworker, and I realized I don't really know how to check if my circular saw blades are sharp enough to use. I assume they need to be replaced after some time, but is there an easy way to tell if they're still good? Any good resources that explain this? Thanks!

You might not need to replace the blade unless you see significant damage like missing teeth. In fact, you can get them resharpened by professionals—just check your local listings. A fresh new blade can really show you what a difference sharpness makes, so maybe grab one that’s similar to what's currently in use and compare the two!
To check if your blade is sharp, keep it clean from any resin buildup. You can scrape your fingernail along the edge of a tooth—if it curls up, it’s sharp; if it just grinds away, it’s dull. This little trick can give you a quick idea about its sharpness!
One surefire sign your blade might be dull is when you start getting ragged cuts or splintering on your wood. That might mean it’s time for a change or a sharpen. Just also keep in mind that a low tooth count blade will also give you that rough finish if you’re doing detailed cuts.

That sounds like a good plan! I’ll definitely consider getting a new blade to check the difference—thanks for the tip!
