How Can I Tell if My Contractor Fixed the Wood Rot in My Home’s Abutment?

I had some wood rot in the abutments of my home, which my contractor was supposed to repair. This included replacing some joists and beams that connect to the house. Unfortunately, things went south with this contractor, and we're no longer in contact. Before they sealed everything up, I managed to snap a few pictures. My concerns now are: 1) Are the joists they've sistered in properly done? 2) Is it normal for the new joists to be shorter than the original ones? 3) What else should I be looking for? I've shared some photos [here](https://imgur.com/a/rHpX13P).

From what I see, it looks decent, but I'm more of a DIY enthusiast. The main thing to watch is the remaining condition of the original wood. If they cut out all the rotten parts and fixed any leaks properly, it should be okay. Just check if there are still any dark patches left—those might be signs of wood rot.

Thanks for your input! I appreciate hearing what others think. Those dark spots definitely concern me; I’m not sure if they got all the rot out.
