I need some advice on whether my drywall is ready for priming and painting with limewash. My contractor applied two coats of mud and sanded it down, saying it's good to go. However, I can still see some tape in certain spots, even though it feels smooth to the touch. I'm worried because I'm using a high-end paint from Color Atelier, and I want to make sure everything is perfect before I start!

If you're seeing tape, then the job isn't finished. The joints need to be feathered out more than just a foot to really hide them. Based on your picture, it looks like a level 2 finish, which isn’t optimal for painting. Level 5 would mean a complete skim coat.
It’s not quite ready yet. You'll need to prime it first, and make sure to use a drywall primer.
Honestly, you'll only find out how good it is once you prime it. You might need to do some spot spackling if necessary.
So I just roll that on like regular paint, right? No more mudding needed?
