How can I track down my missing septic system?

I'm trying to locate my septic system, but I don't have the 'as built' drawings for it. I know it's been functional in the past, but I'm not sure where to start. Does anyone have tips on how to find it?

You could try probing the ground with a shovel or a stick. Start digging small holes until you hit something solid, like a pipe. From there, follow the pipe to see where it leads, and eventually, you should locate the tank. Keep probing until you find the drain field as well. It's all about tracking it down bit by bit!

Another option is to reach out to a local septic service. They deal with this all the time and may have records or information that could help you locate it. They might even offer to assist with the search. It's worth asking!
