How can I transfer my hand-drawn Skyrim map onto wood for carving?

I've drawn a map of Skyrim that I'd love to carve onto a piece of birch wood. I'm struggling to find effective methods to transfer my drawing onto the wood. Most online tips focus on laser printing rather than hand-drawn methods, and I'm looking for a practical way to outline it. I've tried tracing over the drawing with a pen, but the lines are too faint for me to carve accurately. Any advice would be awesome!

One solid option is to use carbon paper. Just place it between your drawing and the wood, then trace over it to transfer your image. Also, if you want to keep your sketch in place while carving, consider using spray adhesive on both the paper and wood for a more durable attachment. If you're looking for something less permanent, putting painters tape on the wood before applying the spray adhesive makes it easy to remove later.

Have you thought about using trace paper? You could print your drawing as a mirror image, then use a thick pencil to trace it onto the trace paper. Tape that to the wood with the marked side down, and then use a metal spoon to burnish the image onto the wood. It’s kind of a classic technique that artists have used for ages. Just make sure to test it out on a scrap piece first!
