I'm really struggling with my yard, which is currently more rock than grass. We hired a landscaper last spring to plant grass at our new home, but the heat this summer wreaked havoc, leaving just a few patches of grass and a whole lot of weeds. We're planning on removing the rocks soon, but I'm unsure about the next steps.
Should I use something like weed and feed now, and how would that impact my new grass? Is Scott's Turf Builder suitable for my situation? We're hoping to plant new grass seed in early September, but I'm worried about the weeds taking over. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

It sounds like you might want to check out resources on r/lawncare or look up your local agricultural extension services. The first step is figuring out if you need warm-season or cool-season grass because that dictates your planting schedule. If you share your location, I can help guide you to the appropriate resources.

Thank you! I'm in Lancaster, PA, and I heard that a mix of tall fescue and Kentucky bluegrass works well here. I'll check out that subreddit for more info!
