How Can I Use Up All These Pears?

I've got a bumper crop of pears from my backyard trees, but I'm not really a fan of eating them fresh. I'm looking for ideas on how to use them up. Should I try making jams, chutneys, or maybe poaching them? What are your suggestions?

When I had a similar issue, I made some spicy pear chutney and a couple of delicious pear cakes. The pear and chocolate cake with chestnut flour turned out amazing! You can also use pears to marinate meat, toss them in kimchi, or toss them in salads for a fresh twist.

You could preserve the pears in a simple syrup, which works great! An even better option is to make a ginger syrup - it adds a fantastic flavor! Just gather as many glass jars as you can and fill them with pears and ginger syrup. These are ideal for baking, like pear and ginger sponge cake, or just as toppings for pancakes and waffles. You might want to experiment with different sugars as well, like muscavado or Demerara. Plus, pomegranate molasses could give it an extra kick! I'd love to get my hands on your pears! ?

Or even use those pears in some holiday desserts! They’d be great in a Christmas cake too!
