How Can I Weatherproof My Outdoor TV Area Under a Deck?

Asked By SunnySkywalker42 On

I have a covered sitting area at the back of my house that's shielded by a deck from the second floor. However, there are some gaps in the wood of the deck. In the future, we plan to renovate this area, but for now, I'm considering turning it into a spot for an outdoor TV. I'm looking for suggestions on how to make this area waterproof so I can safely mount a TV and perhaps add a ceiling fan. How can I manage the water runoff or drainage from the upper deck? Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

You could try installing corrugated plastic panels underneath your deck. They will help direct water away to the edges, which can keep the area drier for your TV setup.

Would you just screw those panels into the joists under the deck?
