How Can We Revamp Our Crumbling Patio on a Budget?

Hey everyone! We've got this old concrete patio that's falling apart and covered in peeling paint. Spring is here, and I really want to make it look better. While we dream of ripping it out completely, we're new homeowners and that seems super costly and a lot of work. We've already tried pressure washing it, and added some furniture, plants, and lights (with rugs on the way!). I'm wondering what our options are. Should we paint it, or maybe add tiles? Just a heads up, the patio is level with the garage foundation, so we can't do much that would block the garage door. I'd love to hear your suggestions! Thanks a bunch! Before deciding on what to do, it’s good to know how thick the concrete slab is. If it's around 1 to 1.5 inches, painting might be an easier option! A solid outdoor paint could really freshen things up without breaking the bank. If you're up for something more adventurous, you could also look into concrete tiles, which can give a fabulous look without the need for a full demo. Just be careful with the height if it’s close to the garage door!

Thanks for the tip! I wasn't sure about the thickness but now I’ll check it out. I’m leaning towards painting for now since it seems quicker.

Painting is definitely a cheap option and can make a big difference! You might also consider using outdoor rugs to cover the bad spots while you plan for a bigger project later. Just don’t forget about proper prep to ensure the paint sticks well!

That’s a great idea! I love the idea of outdoor rugs. They can really liven up the space!
