I found an uncapped 2-inch drain pipe under my bathroom that seems to connect to the city sewer system. I'm curious about how much sewer gas could potentially leak out of that pipe. Is it a real concern, or if I haven't noticed a smell yet, am I in the clear?

If you haven't smelled any sewer gas by now, it seems like not much is escaping. It could be that the pipe isn’t leaking or that the gas isn’t strong enough to reach you.
I have a different issue; it's not the classic rotten egg smell but more like a horse barn scent in my house. It’s been tough to pinpoint whether it’s related to the pipe because I feel like I've gone nose blind.
