How Difficult Is It to Make a Wooden Sword and What Tools Do I Need?

Hey everyone! I'm a newbie here and I have a couple of questions about making a wooden sword. First off, I'm curious about how challenging it actually is for a beginner like me. Also, I want to know what tools are necessary for this project. I currently have a jigsaw, table saw, circular saw, and an orbital sander. If anyone has blueprints or tutorials to share, that would be super helpful. Thanks a lot!

If you're leaning toward a more traditional style, I recommend this video on making a bokken, which is a wooden practice sword. It breaks down the process nicely and might give you some useful tips! [Watch it here](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IIfiErfAuog).

Making a wooden sword isn't too hard, especially if you have some basic tools like the ones you mentioned. You can start by sketching out the sword's design and cutting it out using your jigsaw or table saw. Don't worry too much about getting it perfect, just have fun with it! I've made a wooden knife before, and I think the same principles apply to swords. Just create your pattern, attach grips, and then shape it. It's all about getting the right balance and feel. If you want to see some examples, I made these wooden knives and cake cutters that might give you a good idea of the techniques involved!
