I just bought a new house and I'm looking to change the water filter. Can anyone walk me through what type of filter I need and the steps involved in changing it?

First off, definitely turn off the water supply before you start. You'll want to unscrew the bottom of the filter housing, swap out the old filter for the new one, and then screw it back on. Once that's done, you can turn the water back on. Just make sure everything is tight to avoid leaks!
Sounds like you might need a sediment filter, and it's good to ensure you know where the shut-off valve is for safety. After turning the water off, it’s a good idea to check for a pressure relief button before unscrewing the housing. When putting the new filter in, don't over-tighten it or you might crack the housing.
Exactly! I had a super easy experience changing mine. Just grabbed a standard size filter from Walmart, and it took me like 5 minutes. Super painless!

Just remember to really shut the water off – you don’t want any surprises when you're unscrewing things!
