My wife and I just bought a condo and we're considering replacing or at the very least updating the keypad lock and deadbolt. Since we're on the ground floor, the rear sliding doors provide access to the grass. I'm curious about how challenging it is to replace the keys for the sliding doors. Do we need to replace the entire sliding door assembly to do that? Also, is it really as simple to change the keypad lock and deadbolt as I've seen in the YouTube tutorials?

Honestly, replacing the locks is simpler than you'd think! Even if you feel like you’re not very handy, I managed to change mine without any problems. It’s a pretty straightforward process, and you can definitely handle it!
For the sliding door, the lock is usually separate from the handle, so you might not have to replace the whole setup. At Home Depot, you can find the lock for around $14, and it's often just held in place by a couple of screws. Make sure to check your specific door since some models might need a more extensive swap. But even if you need to replace more parts, it’s still usually just a matter of a few screws!
Totally agree! I swapped mine out with just a few tools. The lock itself is quite inexpensive!
I recently replaced all the locks in my house, and although I consider myself somewhat handy, I always make sure to check instructions online. You could definitely find helpful videos on YouTube! Good luck, it’s not as daunting as it seems!

Yeah, I felt the same way! I watched a couple of tutorials, and it made all the difference. Just take your time!
