I've been trying to catch some mice using spring-loaded traps with peanut butter, and while I've managed to catch a few, it seems like the little guys are getting clever. They're licking the peanut butter right off the traps without setting them off! I'm looking for better methods or traps that would actually work. Any advice?

I've had the best luck with the old-fashioned metal snap traps. Just make sure to adjust the sensitivity so they require a light touch to trip the trap. Also, try using just a tiny bit of peanut butter; that way, they can't lick it without setting it off. It's a simple fix that can make a huge difference!
Switching up your traps can really help. My pest control guy suggested using a mix of traps and placing them in different locations. I also recommend bait stations; they’re easy to set up and can help trap multiple mice. Just make sure to check them regularly!
If you're dealing with especially smart mice, try this trick: superglue a penny to the pressure plate of the trap. It makes it a bit more challenging for them to get the bait without triggering it. I’ve found that using several traps in one area also increases your chances of catching more mice!

That’s a cool hack! I’m definitely going to try that out next time. It seems like these little furries are just getting smarter and smarter.
