Hey everyone! I'm trying to find a suitable AC to DC power converter for my Boss Audio System BRT26RGB ATV/UTV sound bar. This sound bar uses a male cigarette lighter plug and the manual specifies that it operates on 12V DC with a current of 10-16A and a maximum output of 500 watts. I'm looking to use it at home plugged into a wall outlet. Any advice on what power converter I should get? Thanks a lot!

You'll want to look for a 12V wall adapter that can support at least 8 amps. It's straightforward—just cut and splice the connections if you're comfortable with that. This should work perfectly!
Be cautious when choosing the adapter; the max current draw is 8A, but you’ll see a lot of adapters on Amazon with lower wattages (like 120-180 watts). You need one that gives you enough power, so keep an eye out for something that can handle 500 watts to avoid issues.
Good point! If the amp rating of the power adapter is too low compared to the sound bar's requirements, it might not work effectively or could even damage it.

Exactly! Just make sure not to exceed the wattage your sound bar needs. Also, if you want to keep everything intact, you can use a 12V car lighter socket which allows you to plug directly into the sound bar without any modifications.
