How Do I Fix the Gap Around My Bathroom Vanity?

Hey everyone! I recently bought my first home, and now that I've been living here for about a year, I've noticed some shifting happening, especially around my bathroom vanity. There are gaps where the caulking has gone bad. I'm unsure how to tackle this issue. Should I just fill the gap with caulk, or is it better to use shims under the counter? This is my first time dealing with home repairs, so any advice would be greatly appreciated! Here's a picture of the gap: [counter pic](https://imgur.com/a/wjqXRAk)

It depends on how your vanity is installed. If they built the floor first and then placed the vanity on top, you can try screwing it into the wall more securely where it meets the studs. However, if they put the vanity on the subfloor and tiled up to it, you might need to consider adding a molding strip to cover that gap instead.

From what I see in the pic, it looks like the vanity might not even be fastened to the wall properly. If that's the case, you could just push it back toward the wall, secure it to the studs, re-caulk, and you should be good to go! It's a pretty straightforward fix.
