My backyard is completely overrun with wild onions—seriously, it's everywhere! I want to clear them out so I can plant a proper garden with flowers, vegetables, and fruits. I'm considering renting a tiller to help with this, followed by raking out the bulbs. Is this a good idea, or does anyone have better suggestions?

Honestly, if you're trying to plant where they're growing, just focus on removing them from that specific area. Wild onions can act as insect deterrents, so they might not be all bad! But for your garden, it's best to get rid of them where you plan to plant.
