I'm looking to put a wall-mounted mailbox on my house, which has vinyl siding. I've heard that screwing directly into the siding isn't a good idea. Does anyone have tips or suggestions for mounting a mailbox securely without damaging the siding?

You might want to consider using vinyl siding-specific mounting blocks or some sturdy S hooks designed for that type of siding. They’re made to hold up well and avoid any damage to your siding. Just make sure you get ones that can support the weight of a mailbox!
Honestly, your options might feel a bit limited with vinyl siding. If you can’t find the right blocks or hooks, you might want to look into some creative alternatives like freestanding mailboxes or those that mount on posts. Just a thought!
Thanks for the tip! I checked out the S hooks, but they seem a bit flimsy for holding a mailbox. I found some mounting blocks for lights, but they don’t seem wide enough for most mailboxes. Any other ideas?
