How Do I Lower My Blinds Without Breaking Them?

I'm really struggling to figure out how to lower these blinds. I've tried pulling them at every angle - left, right, up, down - but nothing seems to work. I've even tried tugging on different strings to loosen things up, but there's been zero movement! It's really frustrating. How can I get these blinds down? Here's a link to a pic of them: https://imgur.com/a/Xe0cGoa.

Have you tried pulling one string at a time? That can sometimes help in case one side is tighter than the other and lets you lower them more smoothly.

To lower your blinds, try pulling both strings to the left a bit, then gently release the tension. There’s a little ratchet that should click and allow them to unroll. Just be careful not to let go too quickly! Might take a little finesse since they can be tricky.

Yeah, that worked for me too! Just make sure to keep the mechanism at a greater than 45-degree angle or they might just lock back up. Definitely a weird design!

It looks like you’ve got a metal cord lock at the top right. The cords run through it and should hang down the side. If it’s stuck, check for knots or see if that little white tab is a locking mechanism that you need to slide to allow movement. Climbing a bit higher might give you a better view to sort out the issue!
