How Do I Patch a Hole in My Vinyl Siding?

I've got a hole in my vinyl siding—thanks to the cable guy! I'm thinking of trimming the hole into a more manageable shape, then sliding a piece of vinyl underneath it and sealing it with silicone. Does anyone have other suggestions for fixing this?

Have you considered just calling Spectrum to fix it? It might be worth a shot since they caused the damage in the first place! You never know, they might send someone out to patch it for you.

Your plan sounds solid! If you have leftover siding that matches, that could work perfectly. Otherwise, some folks just use silicone to fill small holes, but keep in mind that bigger holes could require a more aesthetic fix. Just make sure to use enough silicone to keep any pesky critters out!

Great suggestion with the silicone! Just a heads up, if the hole is too big, it might not look great afterward. But definitely ensure you have something behind the siding to block access for pests.
