My plants need to be repotted soon, and I want to make sure all the fungus gnats are gone for good. Can anyone share effective methods to eliminate gnats from potting soil? Also, are there any brand recommendations that are known to be gnat-free?

I've used FoxFarm soil without issues, but to be extra safe, I bake my soil before use. Just grab a deep foil baking dish and cook it at 150-200 degrees for about 10-15 minutes. That helps kill off any eggs that might be present in the soil.
One effective method is to spread your potting soil out on a sunny day. Just leave it in the sun for a few hours, and that should help kill any gnats or larvae hiding in there.
That sounds smart! How hot do you think it gets in a regular oven? I might try that method to be safe.
