Hey everyone! I just moved into a new place that has this ventless fireplace sitting in the living room, and it has an electrical outlet on the side. I'm trying to figure out who to call to get rid of it and how much it might cost. I'm a bit hesitant to handle this myself since there's electricity involved. I've heard about home electricians, but do they typically charge a lot? Any advice would be appreciated!

If you can't share pictures here, maybe you can do it through another method. That being said, is it gas-operated? If it's connected to the gas line, you might want to consider calling a pro to handle that safely, especially since you aren't familiar with it.
First off, a picture of the fireplace would really help. Is it built into a wall or an old fireplace? If you're worried about the electrical side, just turn off the breaker it's connected to and then you can start working on removing it safely. That could save you from hiring someone right away!
If you're not set on removing it completely, you could always just leave the outlet and drywall over it. It could be a fun surprise for the next homeowners! Just throwing that out there.

I don't think it's part of an old fireplace. It's attached to the wall and gas line. I actually updated my post with a link to a picture.
