I just picked up a 300-liter garden compost bin, but I realized it doesn't have a base. I want to make sure it stays put in the wind. I've decided to place it on the soil so the earthworms can help with the composting, and I've already chosen a good spot for it. Any tips on how to secure it?

Once the bin is full, it won't be going anywhere! You could also use strong tent pegs to secure the base to the ground, but honestly, that’s not necessary unless you experience really strong winds.
It's actually better for compost bins not to have a base since the juices will drain out and mingle with the soil. Just avoid putting it directly on your patio!
Oh no...standing on the patio sounds disgusting. I had no plans to do that.
To secure your compost bin, try sinking the base a few inches into the ground. This will help keep it stable while allowing the compost to interact with the soil.
Oh yes...that's a great idea!

This is helpful thanks!
