I could really use some advice on how to deal with a major spider problem in my basement. The previous owners left a ton of stuff behind, and while some of it is useful, I'm absolutely terrified of spiders. It's seriously cluttered down there with webs everywhere. I need to figure out a realistic way to clear them out so I can safely go through the items. I honestly don't care if I have to scream or throw things in fear while doing it! Is it possible to just hire someone to help clear away the webs?

A shop-vac might be your best bet for this. It's powerful enough to suck up the webs, and the hose keeps you at a safe distance from the spiders. I’ve used it before and found it really effective. Just make sure to have some ear protection, as those things can get loud! Also, hire a pro only if it’s a task you really can’t handle yourself; it's usually pretty pricey.

Definitely bring ear protection! The reward of cleaning it up is great, though.
