I recently discovered a brick patio and walkway hidden under my yard after buying my house. They haven't been seen in probably around 40 years, and now I want to restore them. I've tried using a shovel, but it's extremely challenging since the ground is filled with dirt and grass, and there are roots growing into the cracks of the bricks. I did use a pressure washer, but it just created a muddy mess due to the age and lack of drainage. Does anyone have tips on tools or methods I can use to effectively clear off the bricks and restore the patio?

You could try using Round Up to clear out the grass, but be careful with overspray. It might help to clear more space without too much effort.
