How Do People Choose a Landscape Lighting Company?

Hey everyone! I'm working with a landscape lighting business in the Greater Toronto Area and I'm really curious about what goes through people's minds when they decide on a company for outdoor lighting. I'm trying to get a grip on the whole decision-making process from the customer's perspective. If you've hired a lighting or landscape company or thought about it, I'd love your insights on a few points: 1. Where did you first look for companies? (Like Google, Reddit, Facebook groups, or heard by word of mouth?) 2. What's the first thing you look at when checking out companies? (Are you more into the photos, reviews, or the website itself?) 3. What factors really influence your final choice? 4. Do you check any specific websites or directories before you make your shortlist? Any little detail would be super helpful. Thanks a lot!

When I'm looking for landscape lighting, I usually start with a Google search. Photos of their past projects are definitely the first thing that grabs my attention. If the photos don’t wow me, I rarely bother to check the reviews. Cost is a major factor too; I prefer companies that list their price estimates directly on their site instead of making me call for info. If I see a project matching my budget right there, I'm likely to stick around and explore that company more. To be honest, I mostly rely on word of mouth before diving into Google for further research.

Honestly, whoever's installing the hardscape usually gets my business! But when I do look around, it starts with Google search. I always check out the photos first because if they don't look impressive or align with what I had in mind, I'm out. Reviews are second, but I won’t get to them if the photos don’t hook me. I don’t check any specific directories; just the usual word of mouth followed by quick Google searches.

That makes a lot of sense! It really highlights how important visuals are for making a first impression.
