I'm juggling around 150 indoor plants and managing both indoor and outdoor gardens. Recently, I've been hit with an aphid infestation and have dealt with scale and mealybugs before. I successfully removed the affected plant, but the aphids are multiplying quickly. It's becoming overwhelming, and I'm wondering if I should downsize my collection. How do you all manage pests with so many plants? What's your take on how many plants are too many?

Honestly, keep as many as bring you joy! If it feels more like a burden, maybe it’s time to downsize. I have about half of what you have, but I make a routine of rinsing the leaves in diluted unscented castile soap whenever I get new plants. After that, I spray everything with neem oil and treat the soil with a systemic pest control product. If I notice any pests like spider mites, I rinse them off immediately and reapply the neem oil. Just make sure all treatments are diluted well to prevent leaf burn!
