How Do You Mark Your Tools for Ownership?

I'm curious about the different ways people mark their tools to claim ownership. Personally, I've always gone with engraving my initials, but I'd love to hear how everyone else does it. What are your go-to methods for labeling your tools?

As a female licensed electrician, I like to get creative! I spray my tools with glitter spray paint and also use a laser engraver to put my name on everything. It makes my tools really stand out and hard to confuse with others. Plus, the glitter tends to annoy other guys on site, which works in my favor. If they complain about the glitter, I just tell them they better find it all before their wife does!

Oh my gosh, I love this! Glitter is the worst, but you’ve made it a strategic move!

Hah! I actually chuckled at this, it’s a brilliant idea. I love how you weaponize glitter! As a guy who embraces hot pink, I do something similar. Most tradesmen won’t be caught with something that color. Gotta love it!

I use a Dremel tool to engrave my initials on all of my equipment. This year, I even picked up a couple of laser engraving machines to add unique patterns to my tools, making them unmistakably mine!

I just grab a good old Sharpie and mark multiple spots on my tools. M18s have a nice area by the battery where the marker can't accidentally rub off. I also go over any white lettering with red if the tool’s seen better days, it makes them super easy to identify!

I've been thinking about using a stencil with my company logo and spraying my tools with fluorescent yellow. Should stand out, right?

Yeah, but keep in mind that the paint might chip off over time, and then it won't look so great!

Honestly, I just pee on my tools. It's a surefire way to make them mine!

You must have some spicy pee to make that work, right? Especially after a night out!
