I'm trying to understand how the pump feature works on my GE 50 pint dehumidifier (model # APHL50LBW2). I installed the pump hose and switched it to pump mode, but it just fills the bucket like normal and then shuts off. There doesn't seem to be a way for the pump to actually remove the water from the bucket since there's no hose or inlet at the bottom to drain it. Can anyone explain how this pump is supposed to function?

I've got the same dehumidifier! The pump doesn't actually drain the reservoir directly but rather pumps from a tray under the coils once the reservoir is empty. Here's what you need to do: make sure the reservoir is completely empty, reconnect the 1/4" white drain line, and turn it back on. Then, hold the pump button until the 'on' light activates. You might hear the pump noise for a moment, and you should check if water is coming out at the hose's end. If it’s not working, the pump might need a clean-up or could be dreading something.
Ah, got it! I’ve been cleaning the bucket regularly but still had no luck. Is there a filter or something specific I need to check to make sure nothing's blocking the pump?
