How far does a vinegar, salt, and soap mixture spread in soil?

I'm dealing with some invasive weeds in my backyard, particularly around areas with pavers and gravel pathways. I've heard that a mixture of vinegar, dish soap, and salt can effectively kill these weeds, but I'm concerned about how this solution will affect the surrounding soil. Specifically, I'm curious how far this mixture might travel underground in a flat area, especially since I have some plants nearby that I want to protect. Will it harm them?

If glyphosate is off the table for you, maybe consider using mulching or other natural weed suppressants. There are safer alternatives that won't impact your desirable plants as much. Just keep an eye on how much you apply and where, and you should be good!

You shouldn't worry too much about the vinegar and salt mix harming your plants a few feet away. Generally, it doesn't travel very deep in the soil, especially in flat areas. Just make sure to apply it carefully on the weeds themselves, and your nearby plants should be fine!
