I've just laid some new turf and I'm excited to do the first cut. I've read that it's best to start with a high mower setting. However, my lawn mower doesn't have any height settings. Does anyone know if lawn mowers without adjustable settings typically cut high or low?

Usually, if there's no adjustable setting, the mower is likely set to a medium height. It should be fine for a fresh cut. How long has it been since you laid the turf?
If your mower doesn’t have height settings and it's a hover type, you might be able to adjust the blade height using spacers on the spindle. It can be a bit tricky, but if you take off the blade, you can reposition the washers to set it higher or lower. If you have that kind of mower, it’ll make sense once you see it in action!
