How Long Can I Run a PS5 on My Solar Setup?

I'm new to solar power and I'm considering setting up a system with 400 watt solar panels, two 12v batteries, and a 2000 watt pure inverter. I'm wondering how long I could run my PS5 with this setup. Appreciate any insights!

It's tough to give a precise answer with the info provided! To help you out better, I’d need details like the actual capacity of your batteries, whether you plan to run just the PS5 or other devices too, and even what games you’ll be playing (since they can use different amounts of power). Also, considering when you'll be gaming might help as well. I'd recommend getting familiar with solar systems and battery capacities before diving deeper into this question!

I've been running my gear on solar too, including my computers and other electronics. It can definitely work, but your runtime hinges on your battery's size and how frequently you use it. You might consider installing an automatic transfer switch if you have access to the grid, just in case your batteries run low. For a 100AH 12v battery, you’re looking at around 4 hours for your PS5 at max capacity, but remember to leave some battery reserve to avoid complete depletion. Adding more panels would definitely help with the recharge times too!

If you're looking for a rough estimate, a typical setup with around 1kWh of battery could power your PS5 for about 2 to 3 hours, assuming you’re using a monitor and a router too. Researching off-the-shelf solar power stations could give you a good baseline for your DIY project. Just keep in mind that battery size is key here!
