I recently discovered an aphid on my philodendron prince of orange, and after treating it with neem spray, I've kept it quarantined in my bathroom for the last two weeks. I'm wondering if that's enough time to safely move it back with my other plants, especially since I haven't noticed any more aphids. How long do you all usually wait before reintroducing a quarantined plant?

Make sure you keep spraying just in case. An aphid can reproduce quickly, so I recommend applying some pyrethrum and then another neem spray after a few days. Ensure you cover the whole plant each time for the best results.
I don't do a formal quarantine. I just inspect my new plants for pests and diseases. If I see anything, I treat it. If they look clear, I still give them a preventive spray, just in case. Remember, sometimes it's the soil that's the source of pests, not the plant itself!
Yeah, I learned the hard way that fungus gnat larvae are super common in most soils! It's definitely something to watch for.
I usually quarantine for about 4 to 6 weeks, especially if I'm unsure about the plant's condition when I first get it. It's better to be cautious than to risk spreading pests.
Have you ever faced any serious issues from shortening your quarantine time? I worry about keeping my plants in the bathroom because of the humidity levels.

I appreciate the advice! I've never used pyrethrum before. I haven't spotted any more aphids yet, though.
