I'm trying to buy horseradish roots to plant this season, and I found them on Johnny's Seeds. They list the roots in 'units', but I'm not sure how many roots are actually included in a unit. Each unit costs about $11, and honestly, I didn't think I'd be doing math about gardening at this point. Any ideas?

One unit usually refers to one root, meant to grow into one plant. Just keep in mind, once you start planting horseradish, it’s going to multiply quite a bit on its own! You're in for a horseradish garden!
I checked their product page, and you're right, it doesn't specify the quantity per unit. But Johnny's Seeds has great customer service! If you give them a call or email, they should be able to give you the details. Just a heads up, make sure to plant your horseradish in a separate pot or a designated spot in your garden; it can really take over if you let it spread!
Just so you know, if you plant horseradish, you're pretty much committing to having it around forever. It can take over your garden! But honestly, nothing beats home-grown horseradish. I’ve had a tough time finding anything fresh in stores.
