How Many M12 Batteries Do I Really Need at Home?

Hey everyone! I could really use some advice here. I've got a few M12 and M18 tools, including the new fuel hex impact and a stubby, and I currently have two XC 3.0 batteries with my M12 tools, plus a mix of 5.0, 3.0, and 2.0 batteries I keep around the house. I rarely work on my car or around the house, but I want to be prepared for anything that might come up. Do I really need to keep the two 3.0 M12 batteries, or is it worth upgrading to five? How many batteries are considered suitable for casual use?

I've got three M12s and they work perfectly for my house projects. I mainly have the 5.0 batteries for my M18s, and I haven’t run into any issues. As long as you have a couple of good ones like I do, you should be fine for casual use.

Honestly, I've gone a bit overboard! I have 12 M12 batteries and about the same number for M18. While I agree that it depends on your usage, more batteries mean less hassle with charging. I've got backups for all my tools, which makes my projects go smoother, but it’s also easy to go overboard if sales keep popping up!

Haha, I feel you on that! It's hard to resist when there are so many deals floating around. I guess if you find a good sale, why not stock up?

I think it really depends on how often you use your tools and what projects you tackle. For me, I have about 10 M12 batteries in various sizes, and it gives me peace of mind knowing I won't run out while working on something. If you're not using them daily, three might be fine, but if you want to make sure you have backups, upgrading could be smart. Just having enough for each tool without swapping is super convenient!

Yeah, I totally agree! I also prefer to keep a battery in each tool to avoid fumbling around during a project. It makes things so much smoother.
