I'm planning to grow rosemary in a 5-gallon container on my deck. I frequently use fresh rosemary, so I'd like to grow a good amount. I intend to start with seedlings from a nursery. My main question is about how many plants I should put in the container. Will one plant eventually fill the pot as it grows, or should I start with 2 or 3? Any tips would be appreciated!

If you’re considering rosemary as a perennial, I suggest starting with just one plant. It can expand and fill the container nicely over time. However, if you're in a colder area where rosemary might not last through winter, go for 2 or 3 to ensure you have a good harvest each year!
Definitely start with 2 or 3 plants! Some varieties of rosemary can grow tall while others spread out more. If you choose an upright type, you can fit them closer together. Just make sure to prune them regularly to keep them healthy!
