I'm considering buying a used SawStop that's 4 years old but never been used, and I'm wondering how much of a discount would make it worthwhile to skip the warranty, which is only 2 years long. What sort of savings would you expect to see on a new unit without the warranty?

Honestly, I think a 10% discount off the sticker price could be enough, especially if it’s brand new. For me, warranties aren’t a big deal since these machines are easy to service if something does go wrong. If you've got a reliable brand, you might be safe buying without it.
If it’s a great deal, I’d definitely jump on it! I found a brand new one locally for around $5200, so I’d expect a solid discount without the warranty. About 25% off retail seems fair to me.
What model are you looking at? If it’s the PCS with 3 HP, I think skipping the warranty could still be worth it for a good price. I just bought the same model with a mobile base for $2200 after some negotiating, and it’s such an amazing deal! I'd say aim for at least 25% off.
